Hair Care Regimen for 2015 - Keepin' it Super Simple in Braids!

Hey There Guys!
Is it me or is the New Year always full of to do lists,
and lists of to-do lists,
finding out that some of your lists are a bit long.....
so you revise the lists again! Whew!
I don't think I'm alone in this....right? I hope not... Back me up here guys! LOL!

Anyhow, I have decided to try to keep my CORE Hair Care Regimen simple and easy to stick to!

My Ultimate Goals: LENGTH RETENTION + GROWTH
As you know from my previous post that I am currently protective styling with Plaits... oh so exciting, lol
*Pic taken this week*
Okay so no it's not (I'm a tad bit sad at the current 'thinner' state of my hair, and maybe a bit of "trimmers remorse" - if there's such a thing, ah well it needed to be done!)
BUT
it will reduce the amount of time that I have to spend on my hair on a regular basis
AND
I can still give my hair the TLC it needs - it needs a lot, very demanding this one, LOL
:-)

Regimen:
  • Deep Condition twice a week: Dry Deep Condition Mid week, Wash and Deep Condition on the weekend
  • Scalp Massage and Inversion Method for 7 days straight - Once a month - Okay so I didn't get any growth spurt that last time I tried this but I'm willing to try again, I did so much trimming/cutting! Ugh! Can I get back my length please, as in like YESTERDAY?! Lol
This is an older picture - I think my braids are a lil thinner now - le sigh :-(

  • Moisturize and Seal at nights - Daily
  • Baggying and GHE Method on Alternate Days

  • Hot Oil Treatment and Tea Rinsing once a week/ once every 2 weeks
  • Satin/silk scarf or pillow case
  • Redo protective style once a week or once every 2 weeks
If this is a lil too condensed for you taste and you'd like a few things explained, feel free to check out my ENTIRE Hair Care Regimen "HERE"

That's about it Really, I lost a lot of my thickness during the stress of the end of 2014, which I'm quietly very sad about, but I'm hoping I can regain it over the coming months...

How are your HHJs going so far? Are there any new tweeks to your Regimens?
I'd love to hear from y'all, feel free to leave a comment below!

Have a great Wednesday!

Xoxo,
Rachie :-)

  2. Have you tried the vatika almond oil or the vatilka cactus oil. If so did you see and improvemnt within months and is the mineral oil a problem

    1. Heya, so sorry for my late reply, forgive me. I like Vatika Oil so far, I've had no issues, I can't say that it (by itself) has caused improvement or growth, but my hair seems to like it as a pre-poo/hot oil treatment. I had a look at the ingredients and I did not see mineral oil... does the brand you have mineral oil? I try to stay away from mineral oil in general.
