Hey There Guys!
Wash Day this last weekend wasn't bad, per say,
I managed to do a much needed protein treatment,
Yay! - that's the sound my hair made post wash, Lol!
But I aint gonna lie, I was TIRED through the whole thing.
But what you gonna do?
The hair needs what the hair needs! So you've just got to soldier on!

- I moisturized my new growth and length of my strands with my Profectiv Mega Growth Leave In Strengthener and added a bit of Coconut Oil to seal.
- Detangled with fingers + Denman Brush
- Hair Divided into 2 sections, then I hopped into the shower, and washed each section thoroughly twice with Design Essentials Moisture Retention Shampoo, final rinse with Warm water.
- My hair felt quite soft at this point because this Shampoo is awesome-sauce!
- I then squeezed out any excess water with my hands very gently in a smoothing motion, NO TWISTING, and then applied my Aphogee 2 Step Protein Treatment
- I then dried the treatment while on my hair using a blow dryer making sure not to agitate it too much, when it hardens if you touch it too much you can cause breakage.
- I hopped back into the shower after the treatment was fully dried and then rinsed each side with warm water.
- I then Deep Conditioned with my Mane & Tail Deep Moisturizing Conditioner with a plastic cap under my overhead dryer for 40 minutes.
- Rinsed with Cold water and Air Dried using the Scarf Method + Shea Moisture Coconut Hibiscus Curl and Style Milk and my new Oil Mix (Sweet Almond Oil + Castor Oil + Argan Oil)... loving this btw :-)
*New Growth + Texlaxed Hair Shrinkage is REAL!!*
- I was so TIRED at this point, I just put my hair in 2 braids, put on my scarf and went to bed #workstressistheworst
- The Following day I moisturized and sealed and detangled again, my hair felt decent, less breakage for sure,...but I had had enough, It was time to do some sort of protective styling, something that didn't require too much manipulation for at least a week..... Back to Braids!
I'm sorry I couldn't give you better pics, my phone camera is being troublesome of late.
So that's about It I'm back to braids for the week! And I'll definitely post a pic or two of the way I wear them to work tomorrow.

Have a great day!
Xoxo,
Rachie :-)
I love how smooth your air-dried hair is! What do you attribute to it--The Shea Moisture or your oil mix?
ReplyDeleteYour braids are super cute. About how long does it take you to install them?
Thanks for sharing your #washdayexperience chica!

Heya girlie! Thanks so much:-) I think I attribute the smoothness to air drying to 70-80% dry THEN applying the oil mix and the the leave-in, mind you, I will say this oil mix is probably one of the best I've made, I think my hair is really liking the Sweet Almond Oil and the Argan Oil - I've never tried the latter before this.
DeleteAs for the braids: it took me 3 1/2 hours to put in! whew! Tired aching arms and shoulders! Lol
Thanks for having me!
I second that thought about the smoothness of your airdried hair!
ReplyDeleteI see a red ombre in there somewhere lol Do my eyes deceive me?
Aww thanks Abbi! Yeppers I had dyed my hair red a while back before my hhj, I'm growing it out now. I do miss it sometimes though, it used to be much a brighter wine-red-awesomeness. :-)
