THE SURPRISE BIG CHOP!
Yup this is a picture of me,
...
But DONT PANIC!
LOL
This is a "Throwback Picture" of me that my fiance' found earlier on this week.
This was taken when I was doing my internship in Barbados I think in the latter part of 2010 or early 2011.
I was at a time in my "Hair Life" when My hair had had a growth spurt out of nowhere, I was so happy! With my extra-happy-self, I then decided to go to the Hairdresser to get it Layered...
sigh...
(My hairdresser stories are the stuff of Halloween camp fire-side tales..)
Back to the story! So..
While in the chair, I kept trying to look at the floor to see how much was being cut off
At one point I glimpsed approx 3 inch thick pieces lifeless on the tiles,
I started to panic!
But back then I was a silent sufferer,
not wanting to hurt peoples feelings, not sure how to say "what the HECK are you doing?!"
I didn't see the back until I got home,
I took this picture in the middle of a complete meltdown! I was, to say the least, Distraught! All that growth gone in a matter of minutes :-(
And this wasn't the first time this had ever happened to me, I just HAVE EVIDENCE of this one,
SMH.
This just highlighted to me how grateful I am to to be on a Healthy Hair Journey now.
Not just for length and thickness that we all long for, but for the confidence it has given me to know that I am no longer dependent on others to do my hair, I can do it myself!
Hairdresser Independence!!!
Woot woot!!
I.e. I can now go to the hairdresser because I want to, not because I have no other choice :-)
(with the exception of Texlaxing though, but I'm working on it! :-)
So girlies...
Cheers to the Freakin Weekend!...
(rihanna Navy fo' life!)
Cheers to Rihanna who gave me the inspiration to dye my Hair Red after my Post-Apocalypse Haircut!! You saw the picture, you know I had to do SOMETHING! lol!
(Yes there about 3 or 4 tracks here for added length & thickness, Crop Over is no joke! #limerzcruise)
CHEERS to the HHJ and to Hairdresser INDEPENDENCE!!!
(Again - For the most part - next step is to texlax my own hair!)
And CHEERS to you ladies who stop by my blog to join me on the "wild ride" that is my Hair Journey
Hugz
:-)

Love this post chica! Omgosh...back in 2007, I went in for a trim and left with a TERRIBLE cut. I haven't let a stylist trim my hair since. Don't get me wrong, there are a lot of very good stylist out there. I just haven't met one yet. LOL.

Thanks girlie!! I know just what you mean, some ladies go to stylists religiously and their hair looks fabulous, but that's just not my luck, at all, lol!
